BENGAL TIGERS

Today there are only 5 of the 8 subspecies of tiger which remained in the 1900s left in the world - all of them appear on the endangered species list.  This is a Bengal Tiger, photographed at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.

In 1950 there were over 100,000 tigers in the wild.  In 1990 there were less than 5,000 (information courtesy of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo in Indiana).  These tigers were also photographed at Disney's Wild Animal Kingdom.
