Just a few more shots of the Canyon.  It's so different in every direction and it just keeps going and going and going.  Our Jeep guide told us one of the most common mistakes people make when viewing the Canyon is thinking it doesn't look that big, or that the other side doesn't seem so far away even tho it's miles between them and the other side ... or the bottom.

I stayed at the Yavapai Lodge (top, left) which was a motel-type setting. It was very basic, but just a short walk from the Yavapai lodge where there was a big cafeteria and gift shop.  There is also a full-service post office, grocery store and another gift shop just across the street from the cafeteria.  So there is a lot convenience-wise and really close-by.  All the lodging in the park (as is most of the park itself) is run by AMFAC Resorts - for more info, go here:  http://www.grandcanyonlodges.com/ or here: http://www.amfac.com/properties/grandcanyonnationalparkslodges.htm
Bright Angel lodge is the most popular lodge I think - it's where you can see the mule ride leave and return each day and I think is the oldest of the park's lodges.  The El Tovar seemed to be the most extravagant.
