It's been a while since we
said this ... but there's a new SR on the ISH mold. It's for the Stone Henge
Live called Snowcap - a splash white pinto in glossy finish. The show will be
held September 14 in Grand Lake, Colorado - entry deadline is August 31,
2002. Visit the Stone site for details:

The new Little Bit scale "Pebbles"
has been released with the first models showing up for sale at BreyerFest/Equilocity.
There are 9 colors in the initial line on the little stock horse sculpted by
D'arry Jones Frank. Here's a loop you might not have expected - these pieces
are made in China. Part of the line is painted in China as well and will from
your favorite Stone dealer, prices not yet announced. The rest of the line is
painted and purchased direct from the factory for $20 each.
Breyer had another QVC date
on Thursday, August 8, 2002 from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. EDT. They released a
second edition of the glossy StableMate series as a surprise (it wasn't
pre-listed on the site) and of course they sold out with some other favorite
new additions - an exclusive (for now) Huck Bey mold Unicorn to match the
Marabella/lying Morgan foal Unicorns introduced on QVC not long ago. The mare
and foal are now regular additions to the 2002 line, so we can cross our
fingers on the stallion. Some special runs also returned from the last show
including Equinox (glossy chestnut Wixom mold), Traveller (light grey San
Domingo with cavalry tack), pleasure horse paint with tack and show jumper
with tack. Another nice surprise was a "Justin Morgan and book" set which
included a glossy bay Justin Morgan on the discontinued Sherman Morgan mold.
The new Paso mold in dapple grey also made his debut at $38.75 plus $4.72
shipping. In fact, you can still order some of these online. Go to
www.qvc.com
and type in "Breyer" in the search box at top center.
The North American Nationals
(NAN) is behind us, as well as the infamous NAN auction. The results of
the auction will soon be posted on the web site. If you missed the lots
that were offered, check them out here with lots of other photos from NAN

Long time hobby supplier of
North Light resins, Lone Wolf Star/Laura Pervier is closing her doors. For
ongoing sales, check out the most current prices online at:
http://www.lonewolfstar.com The site
advertises that all horses have been discounted approximately 40% and 4 or
more figurines will receive an additional 10% off. Some horses tho are only
discounted 20% or so. There are loads of specialty color lying and standing
foals left mostly as far as equines are concerned. There are some really good
deals to be had on dogs (it's not a bad idea to start thinking about early
Christmas presents!). And a handful of minis still on hand too.
Jen Reid has a new resin in
production, a jumping horse:
http://www.nbsstudio-jr.com
NBS Rom is priced at $250 with a jump or $200 without, unpainted.
Lynn Fraley had a recent release
of a mule, already sold out! She is named "Teusday" as Lynn was working on
her when 9-11 happened.
Long ears fans rejoice,
there's a new mule mini in the 2002 H-R line. He's a nice hefty stock-type
mule which runs about $12. There are base and no base versions circulating.
It's been a good year for long fans considering H-R also introduced a mini
scale donk jennet and foal this year as well. They all have decent
confirmation and make outstanding repaint prospects. Dog fans will love the
new dogs minis too - check out the new line at:
http://www.hagenrenaker.com/Products/New/new_mini.html
Keep in mind, the mini draft horse
in harness is now discontinued, as well as the grey Arabian colt and "New Era"
the Thoroughbred stallion.
Ertl mini fans, there is news from
a supplier that they are still producing the 1/32 scale minis - but only these
sets: Appaloosa, Colorado Ranger, Pinto, Morgan, Thoroughbred and Quarter
Horse. That means no drafters and the few mule sets that made it out were
it! Their production is slow, so once stock is sold out you won't see them at
your favorite store for a while. Look for new packaging too - bright yellow
boxes replaced the old blue style. Apparently pressure from suppliers to
bring back some of the old sets has been unsuccessful.
There's a new model mag on
the hobby scene out of Australia "Model Horsetalk International" which sells
at $20/year for USA. It's full size and in color ... but I haven't actually
seen a sample issue. Here's the addy for more info:
