The Sumatran Tiger is the smallest of
the remaining tiger species, with an average male weighing in at around
309 pounds. There are less than 800 of these animals left in the wild and
in zoos around the world, marking them critically endangered. Sumatran
Tigers are found on the
Indonesian island of Sumatra. These two cubs were photographed at the
Akron Zoo in Akron, Ohio in 2001 at about 3 months old.
